Did you hit the Kroger One Day sale today?

Thursday, July 30, 2009 Hand-posted by Jennifer

I put some printable coupons up last week when I first heard about it here and I’m curious what kind of savings everyone is enjoying.

My Kroger manager told me yesterday that they will NOT be giving rainchecks so I’ll be disappointed if I make it out later and the shelves have been cleared.

So, if you’ve been shopping already then please share with me what you’ve been able to snag.  Other Kroger regions are apparently having the sale on a different day based on their sales ads so your comments will be helpful for people in those other areas!

  • Anything turn out ultra cheap or free?
  • Was the sale worth it?

I had intended on being able to get out early today and haven’t made it yet because of car trouble.  Things always happen at weird timing. My husband can’t understand why I am distraught about missing a sale,  LOL

I got out this AM and it wasn't too bad. I did 8 of the PG products, and some clearance meat (look for Bob Evans sausage with $.55 peelies!). We're currently STOCKED on Cereal so I didn't bother with the Kellogg's deals, but I did snag some cheap Cheezits. They were priced at $1.49-$1.59 (size) which I is as cheap as they get during the buy 10, get $5 deal. I had the $.75 printable but only used one b/c it's specifically for the new whole grain kind. No problem though. $57 in groceries for $17!

I went and did pretty well, although it was quite picked over at 3 pm. My favorite deals of the day weren't the One Day deals, though. Asheville Hwy had some Glad Force Flex trash bags on close out, and I used a couple $1 off coupons. Then I bought 4 $1.50 boxes of Velveeta Shells and Cheese using 2 $1.50/2 coupons. Then used the "Buy 2 Velveeta, get a free Kraft bbq" stickers from the box, and ended up getting $5 in catalinas! That was $3 oop for the Velveeta and sauce with $5 catalinas. Yay!

I haven't made it out yet because our sale isn't until tomorrow! My ad clearly says this but I hadn't noticed it until I was getting my stuff ready to leave this morning and saw someone mention it online. So, I am enjoying the preview of everyone else's trip. :)

I got there at 8:30 am. I got 3 boxes of cereal,2 Yogos, 2 Cinnabon bars, 2 Special K cereal bars, and 3 Keebler Cookies. I had a coupon for every item. The $42 bill came down to $12.36. But the best part is...all the items qualify for the Fuel for School Rebate, so the total after my rebate will be $2.36. I was HAPPY!
