Saving money on those expensive printing supplies

Calculator Cupcake I have several friends that keep repeating to me that they want to buy a printer so they can print coupons but are hesitant because of the the cost involved.  It’s not only an investment upfront to purchase the printer in the first place but it will also affect their ongoing budget as well.

My side of the argument that I continuously have with them is that it may be an upfront investment in order to purchase one but they would save more money in the long run from having the ability to print valuable coupons.

Considering all the coupons that are on and all the other sites there are definitely alot of printable coupons available to print.  Plus, there are coupons offered online that are not available in the Sunday paper.  For example, Walgreens and CVS just released high dollar $5 off $25 coupons to print.  Coupons such as this help maximize the savings you are getting on the things you buy and help offset the cost of the printing supplies you are buying.  Savings that would not been available to you without a printer.

So, in my opinion, purchasing a printer is definitely worth the investment!  Plus, if you’re looking for additional ways to save money on printing supplies then checkout this article from Hollie at Happy Couponing.

Not only that, but I get tons and tons of printable coupons from companies I sign up with like Morningstar Farms, Kashi, etc. Seems like it wouldn't take more than six months to pay for the printer. And, you can take advantage of deals and promotions from office stores to buy ink! I probably print at least 2 or 3/day and think it's definitely worthwhile.

We have a little printer/scanner/copier, and besides the coupon printing, I use it to copy anything out of a magazine that I want to keep such as a recipe, or decorating idea, then I file that and take the magazine with me to any appointment and leave the magazine in the waiting room. We also use it to copy receipts and rebate forms, etc. and especially our tax returns before sending. It is very handy to have and I have saved hundreds by being able to print coupons!
